Telco tower concerns

Tweed Daily News - - NEWS -

TODAY I received a most disturbing letter notifying me of (CPS Global Contractors’) intention to lodge an application to council for the construction of a 41.3m telecommunication tower to be erected on council property on Terranora Road, Banora Point.

We live adjacent to this site and will be adversely affected in significant ways if this proposal was to be approved.

Firstly, mine and other neighbouring properties will see our real estate values plummet, secondly the construction of the tower will see it dwarf the already unpopular water tank, being more than double its height.

The residents directly affected by the proposal are already suffering severe hardship living directly under Gold Coast Airport’s flight path, with ever increasing noise and jet fuel exhaust pollution affecting our health and lifestyle, and now they wish to further destroy our day-to-day lives even more.

This hideous metal monstrosity does not belong in our backyard.

We object most strongly and we will endeavour to protest relentlessly until such time as this proposal is overturned. — R.J. Browne, Banora Point
