Eco credentials

Tweed Daily News - - OPINION NEWS -

COUNCILLOR Allsop: It is a disgrace that you would make such a disgraceful outburst of complete nonsense toward the mayor at last night’s meeting. You have proven yet again to have no knowledge of the water mining issues or the meeting referred to and continue to embarrass yourself in front of such a large gallery and your fellow councillors. It is my opinion that you were elected to the position of councillor under false pretences, as your election platform was to protect the environment and support eco-tourism in the Tweed. So far you have voted in favour of the environmentally destructive water-mining industry, in favour of development which directly further endanger the coastal koalas, in favour of the destructive logging vandalism in Limpinwood, the Gold Coast Airport environment destruction, support coastal high-rise development and the list goes on. For these reasons I demand that you apologise in writing to Mayor Milne and immediately resign from your position as Tweed Shire Councillor.
