OUR Commonwealth Games stars have come away with an incredible medal strike rate, with four Tweed athletes bringing home medals at the 2018 Games.
■ DYLAN WOTHERSPOON: Scoring three goals, Wotherspoon led the Kookaburras in attack as the side won a sixth consecutive Commonwealth Games gold.
■ KEN HANSON: Hanson became Australia’s oldest ever Commonwealth Games gold medallist after he produced the winning bowl for the para open triples team.
■ GABRIELLE NANCE, SAVANNAH FITZPATRICK: Nance and Fitzpatrick, both 23, won silver with the Hockeyroos in a tournament that could set-up their careers. Both were instrumental in the attacking half for Australia and should feature for the national side in upcoming tournaments.
■ BILL CHAFFEY: Although Chaffey has described the result as “disappointing”, his bronze medal finish in the para-triathlon was remarkable.
