Tweed Daily News - - NEWS -

Work to repair the major landslip on Clothiers Creek Road will start on Monday 30 April and last for about five weeks, weather permitting.

The existing 4.5-tonne weight limit on the road will remain in force until the repairs have been completed.

The one-lane traffic flow through the slip area will remain under the management of the temporary traffic lights that have been in place since the March 2017 flood. Motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes between traffic light changes at times.

Contractor Australian Marine and Civil Pty Ltd will drill large soil nails into the down slope embankment and then apply shotcrete to stabilise the slope before repairing the road and replacing the guardrail.

Workers will be on site from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 7am to 3pm on Saturdays.
