Mul­t­i­cap opens its doors to Tweed re­gion com­mu­nity

MUL­T­I­CAP is proud to have em­pow­ered more than 1200 peo­ple with dis­abil­ity and their fam­i­lies through­out its 56year his­tory, says Tweed Heads re­gional man­ager He­len Carter.

“We con­tinue to evolve in re­sponse to the needs of our cus­tomers with the launch of the Tweed Com­mu­nity Hub in North­ern NSW,” she said.

“The Tweed Com­mu­nity Hub is a place where cus­tomers im­me­di­ately feel at home.

“Our hubs are wel­com­ing and in­clu­sive, whether it be driv­ing cre­ative pro­grams or sup­port­ing so­cial en­gage­ment through bring­ing to­gether like-minded peo­ple.

“This is a place of re­prieve, skills de­vel­op­ment and sup­port, and it will grow to re­flect the spe­cialised needs of our lo­cal com­mu­nity.”

Ms Carter said led by a ded­i­cated and ex­pe­ri­enced team, staff at the hub were pas­sion­ately in­volved in the lo­cal com­mu­nity.

“We un­der­stand that many things con­trib­ute to the ful­fil­ment of our cus­tomers and we strive to go above and be­yond in all as­pects,” she said.

“We de­liver sup­port plans that high­light op­por­tu­ni­ties, not bar­ri­ers. We de­velop cre­ative and so­cial pro­grams that will con­trib­ute to cus­tomers’ en­hanced en­joy­ment of life and make path­ways be­tween dreams and re­al­ity.”

Ms Carter said the or­gan­i­sa­tion was at the be­gin­ning of an ex­cit­ing time for cus­tomer-led dis­abil­ity ser­vices.

“With the roll­out of the Na­tional Dis­abil­ity In­sur­ance Scheme, we are look­ing at ways to of­fer our cus­tomers bet­ter in­clu­sion, in­de­pen­dence and recre­ational, so­cial and learn­ing out­comes,” she said.

“Mul­t­i­cap is cham­pi­oning this through go­ing above and be­yond.

“We are think­ing out­side of what’s been done be­fore and we are fully pre­pared to sup­port peo­ple to make in­formed de­ci­sions.

“This will help them to de­velop life skills and ex­pe­ri­ence ex­cite­ment, fun and re­lax­ation.

“Through our ded­i­ca­tion in meet­ing the needs of our cus­tomers, such as Liam and Sa­rina( pic­tured right and left), we have brought to­gether a di­verse and highly-skilled team at the Tweed Com­mu­nity Hub.”

Mul­t­i­cap’s Tweed-based hub is at Shop 1, 47 Green­way Drive, Tweed Heads South.
