KNOG PWR RIDER 450 £ 57.99

Urban Cyclist - - On Test - Www.knog.com.au

If ever there was a light designed for the commuter, this nifty little product from Knog is it. That’s because it also doubles as a power bank. Simply unscrew the end cap to expose a USB for charging your phone. (There’s also a micro USB for charging the light.) Knog say that the front light can 35% charge an iPhone 7 with one hour’s light use, which pretty much matches our experience. Just note that you shouldn’t charge when raining. We’d also advise purchasing a phone bracket rather than draping a long lead from your cockpit to whichever pocket you carry your phone. Hence, go for the smallest lead you can to reduce looping lead excess. As for the light itself, it boasts 450 lumens with an elliptical beam for wider peripheral view. There are six modes of lighting – low, medium, high, pulse, and strobe and eco flash – with run time (when not charging phone) ranging from 40mins to 35hrs. Fits neatly, too. Great stuff.

9 Versatile and compact light that powers your vision and your phone
