Huntington Beach is a wonderful place to chill and relax in a beach location in the shadows of Los Angeles. This part of California is all about the beach, and as host of the Vans US Open of Surfing every year – this year from 29 July to 6 August – surf is at the forefront for people on vacation. The pier is a fantastic backdrop for photography, especially at sunset, and surfers just love “shooting the pier” – surfing a wave between the pylons. Watch them from the beach or from the pier itself, perhaps while grabbing a bite at Ruby’s Diner at the very end of the pier.
