The Mon­drian opens in Doha

The Mon­drian Doha opens in Oc­to­ber 2017, with 270 rooms con­sist­ing of five dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories – pent­house suites, stu­dio suites, one- and two-bed­room suites and stan­dard rooms. All the rooms and suites fea­ture Swarovski crys­tal chan­de­liers and sump­tu­ous be­spoke fur­ni­ture in hues to mir­ror the desert. Sen­si­tively rooted in local Ara­bic cul­ture, the hotel is the em­bod­i­ment of Ara­bia through a mod­ern lens, mir­ror­ing the city in which it re­sides. Doha has grown from a mod­est fish­ing vil­lage into a global cap­i­tal. The hotel will in­cor­po­rate be­spoke Mar­cel Wan­ders de­sign fea­tures with influences from the beauty of local pat­terns, or­nate Ara­bic writ­ing and his­toric souks. High­light el­e­ments in­clude gi­ant col­umns with golden eggs, a ‘tree of life’ com­pris­ing flow­ers, fal­con video art, gi­ant shisha, pat­terned car­pets, or­nate stained glass and in­tri­cate mo­saic tiling.
