Look­ing out from the bal­cony of my room at Pep­pers Noosa Re­sort & Vil­las, I see a for­est of green, which is to be ex­pected as the re­sort tucks into the spec­tac­u­lar Noosa Na­tional Park. I leave the slid­ing doors open, invit­ing in the ocean breeze, the bird­song and the scent of eu­ca­lyp­tus. While it is tempt­ing to stay in my well-ap­pointed room, the de­lights of Noosa’s Hast­ings Street are a short walk down the hill. I laze on the golden sands of the beach, swim in the warm ocean and en­joy watch­ing a group of vis­i­tors do a learn-to-surf les­son, laugh­ter in­ter­spersed with yells of de­light as that first wave is rid­den. The shops and restau­rants of Hast­ings Street while away an hour or two, and back at the ho­tel, I en­joy a mas­sage at Stephanie’s Ocean Spa, a dip in the pool and a won­der­ful meal at the re­sort’s View Restau­rant, headed by chef Matt Golin­ski. The view out over the bay is mag­nif­i­cent, to be savoured whether you are there for break­fast, lunch or din­ner. pep­
