What do you love about your job? Being able to come up with a concept in my head, translate that to paper and then see it built and come to life. My work allows me to travel the world and experience new cultures. Where was the last place you flew for business? I recently got back from Singapore where we designed and built a ninemetre-high, six-metre-wide feature wall for the Shangri-La at their flagship hotel. The wall sits in the lobby and is made of 30 tonnes of basalt and more than 500 living plants. How do you pass the time while you’re in the air? If it’s a domestic flight, I try to focus on work because it’s the only time my phone isn’t ringing, but if it’s international I’ll watch as many films as I can. What’s your all-time favourite holiday destination? I love Hong Kong, Europe, Fiji, but I’d have to say the trip I remember the most was when I visited Africa as a child. What do you never travel without? My headphones are great as they block out the other passengers! They let me focus on work even if I’m not listening to music. What’s your top travel tip?

Drink lots of water! It’s tempting to enjoy all the exciting flavours of bars in exotic destinations but I try and balance it with as much water as I can drink. Where are

you heading next? In September I’m heading to Europe to look at some projects in England, France and then Capri, where I’ve never been before. I’m going for a month and taking the family; I can’t wait to experience it with them.
