SAFE USE OF EARPHONES

Virgin Australia Voyeur - - EXPERIENCE -

Modern aircraft are designed with an internal noise level which is inside occupational noise guidelines. There is an extra source of noise that you control — your earphones. If you are using earphones in an environment with significant background noise — such as on board an aircraft — the natural response can be to increase the volume of the sound through the earphones. There is the risk that, without noticing, you increase the sound to hazardous levels. Ever been driving your car with the windows open and music playing, and then stopped at traffic lights to discover that the music is really loud? It’s the same phenomenon. Remember to make sure your earplugs fit well and are not turned up too loud.
