Australia’s sporting identity has long been linked with the spirit of courage and endurance. On the night of 18 June this spirit was burning high as elite athletes and high society gathered at the Melbourne Convention Centre for the Prime Minister’s 2016 Olympic Dinner. In a magnificent spectacle of elegant gowns and smart dinner suits, 100 Olympians and 1300 guests including the Prime Minister, walked down the red carpet through a guard of honour with over 200 national flags. This was the 9th dinner held since 1984 and a major fundraiser for the Australian team in preparation for the Rio games. the Eagle
