Scores of car enthusiasts and collectors from around the world congregate each year to revel in the grandeur of the 3-day vintage car show. This is a rare and hard-won occasion as Paul Mathers, the founder of Motorclassica explains, “"Unlike the United States or Europe, the antique car market in Australia is rather empty. Even with the amount of racing, there is a lack of location for both antique car collectors and vehicle restoration teams to gather together."

Since its opening in Melbourne in 2010, Motorclassica has become an international model for classic car exhibitions, showcasing Australia's largest collection of classic cars and motorcycles. As Paul explains, "This is an incredibly unique show of vintage cars and motorcycles, where the classic, retro feeling captured in its history is presented to the audience in an incredibly stylish manner. Those that are then favoured in the awards show receive an invitation to participate in international competitions and exhibitions." From the rarest to the most extraordinary, Motoclassica sees the panoply of classic cars rub tires, each showcassing its own cultural meaning and historical significance.

This year, alongside hundreds of historical vehicles, Motorclassica unveils rare cars from British brands Alta and Frazer Nash, a 1928 Lombard AL3 Roadster from French manufacturer Lombard, a 1947 Italian Cisitalia 202 Coupe, a newly-restored 1971 Monteverdi 375L Coupe – one of just 68 ever built, and a 1948 Healy Duncan Sports Saloon Coupe – one of just three in the world.
