A Multi-faceted Tesla - Model S

Of all the head-turning cars on the market, a Tesla is sure to draw all eyes as it passes by. The signature “T” hood ornament surmounts the world’s most technologically advanced electric powered vehicle. It’s been five years since the release of the Model S, and for most car manufacturers, this means it’s time for a new model. Yet at Tesla, the Model S returns to the market once more, with CEO Elon Musk’s determination to make this the fastest model available.

Last year, Tesla launched the new Model S P100D, boasting a larger 100kwh battery pack with an increased range of up to 380 miles, making it the first to reach over 300 miles, and the longest-range production electric vehicle by far.

At the top of the features list is the “Ludicrous Mode”, and like a switch between personalities, it goes from standard to firing 0-60 miles per hour (approximately 97km) in an impressive 2.2755 seconds. On a quarter mile track, Ludicrous Mode sets a record of 10.79 seconds, a number which is comparable with only three other vehicles; the Bugatti Veyron ultrarunning sports car (9.7seconds), the Ferrari Laferrari (9.7seconds) and the Porsche 918 Spyder (9.8seconds).

On the outside, the Model S P100D has a restyled exterior with minimal detailing, creating an attractive, futuristic design. With the front air grille of the traditional model completely gone, the cleaner snout enhances the headlights and logo. The original black on the side and rear guard has also disappeared, leaving the entire vehicle a single colour.

Driving the Tesla Model S P100D is to experience the future of driving. The simple design of the vehicle provides a beautiful balance to its unparalleled ability and speed. The electronically controlled wheels, acceleration and braking make the latest Model S not only super stable, but when you’re scorching down the highway, it’s like flying a quiet rocket ship – smooth, and exhilaratingly fast.

Tesla is known for its outstanding commitment to protecting the environment, but it doesn’t stop there - the new Model S is equipped with a HEPA high-tech filtration system, designed to eliminate 99.7% of allergies and bacteria inside the cabin. So Tesla is not only committed to protecting the health of the environment, but also the health of its users.

The cabin has some even better adjustments. Most of the major buttons and functions of the car have been reduced into one impressive 17-inch central control panel, designed like a big smart phone that controls all the lights, air-conditioning and multimedia. The new and easy-to-use interface includes internet connectivity, allowing access to road condition updates, obstacle warnings, parking assistance and GPS. The lack of physical buttons creates a beautifully minimalistic interior.
