The Gantry, a chic wa­ter­front res­tau­rant in the heart of Sydney's his­toric Rocks precinct of­fers an ex­cep­tional din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. Bick­ford, who has 25 years cooking ex­pe­ri­ence be­hind him brings pas­sion and cre­ativ­ity to his craft. He grew up in the Blue Moun­tains and as a child was in­spired to take up cooking af­ter watch­ing his mother bake at home. Start­ing his culi­nary ca­reer at 14, he even­tu­ally won his own chef hat while work­ing as the ex­ec­u­tive chef at Bowral’s Mil­ton Park and Eschalot in the South­ern High­lands. Bick­ford says The Gantry ap­peals to peo­ple be­cause it of­fers an el­e­ment of sur­prise to the fine din­ing ex­pe­ri­ence.
