Legend has it that black pearls are made from the most tender tears of Nacre, the mother of all pearls. The dark colours resemble those of the deep sea, where the rolling torrential waves have been caught in the heart of the pearl, bundled in layers of nacre and enveloping the emotions of the sea within each layer of the precious gem.

South Pacific pearls emit a faint glow from their black, white or golden surface, reflecting layer after layer of rainbow-like lustre. Also exhibiting a uniquely smooth, soft texture, black pearls bring out the individual nd personality of each wearer according to their own particular style.

The softness and elegance of the pearl invokes endless inspiration in the observer. Purity and beauty shine forth from the various shades these pearls are famous for.

“Australian Pearl Divers” have collected black pearls from Tahiti for many years, along with South Sea pearls. Their jewellery cutters, polishers and designers work very hard to ensure the quality and perfection of each and every product. The store features an exquisite collection of black pearl jewellery, along with uniquely Australian designs.
