Situated in the central west region of New South Wales, Cowra is about a four hour drive inland from Sydney. Cowra is known as a town of great adventures offering a wealth of experiences such as boutique vineyards featuring great food, wine and hot air ballooning which is a breathtaking way to appreciate the vast and beautiful landscape surrounding the town. But no visit is complete without a stroll through the peaceful tranquillity of the famous Cowra Japanese Gardens, where the fascinating history linking Cowra and Japan is waiting to be uncovered. 2008年,日本電視台製作了一部電視片《那時候,我們的生命薄如紙》(On That Day, Our Lives Are Lighter Than The Toilet Paper: The Great Cowra Breakout),作為曾震驚世界的一場戰犯血腥越獄事件的55年祭奠。
