Rolls Royce wrapped up July with the launch of the eight-generation Phantom. Since the birth of the last generation of Phantom 14 years ago, the model has experienced an extraordinary evolution while staying true to its luxury nature. The new model has incorporated the latest upgrades in science and technology to become the ideal car for the vehicle-savvy elite.

Imbued with over 90 years of Rollroyce history, Phantom VIII retains the classic flagship Rolls Royce exterior, this time however, taking on a modern flair. The LED headlights are sleeker and narrower, while the bonnet, vertical grille and even the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ stand taller than past models, giving it a grander feel. The model’s elegant body lines have been softened, beginning sharply at the front doors but slowly smoothing out towards the rear doors.

The new model introduces the allnew ‘Architecture of Luxury’, a full aluminium body structure designed to clothe all future models. In addition to new lightweight features, the vehicle’s strength has been increased by 30 percent. For the weightless sensation of flight on land, the Phantom is equipped with Rolls-royce golden ratio wheels. The 22-inch diameter alloy wheels include auto repair of rubber tyres.

The exquisite exterior is enhanced by a luxurious spacious interior. Features include an all leather surface, including a leather multi-function steering wheel as well as hand- built seats. Electric heating and ventilation is available for comfort, and for further luxury, the rear seats are fitted with two drinks cabinets, an electric folding table, and hidden multimedia controls.

The Phantom’s advance intelligence system has also seen an upgrade. In addition to a range of security configurations, the system leads the industry with a 7x3 high-resolution head up display, WIFI hotspot, as well as the latest navigation and entertainment systems.

Every new Phantom car will have unique standout features to accentuate the driver’s well-heeled status. In addition to customized colour and design, the Phantom offers ‘The Gallery”, essentially a piece of the owner’s chosen artwork incorporated into the dashboard and sealed with a piece of tempered glass. Alongside 10 basic gallery selections, owners have the liberty to display artworks of their own choosing. This novel feature elevates the luxury Phantom to distinguished heights of sophistication.

The Phantom offers tranquility with 360-degree sound insulation, in conjunction with 22-inch ‘Silentseal’ tyres, making it 10% quieter at 100km/h than its predecessor. Beneath the bonnet lies a 6.75 litre V12 twin turbocharged engine, with a maximum output of 420kw, peak torque at 900Nm, and ZF 8-speed automatic transmission to enable a combination of incredible power and smooth driving.
