Gunners' Barracks is rated by Australian media as the most magni cent wedding venue in Sydney. With an intimate ambience, amazing food and a grand harbour view, it’s easy to see why new couples want to exchange their vows here. Watching the sun set over the sparkling sea while a gentle breeze whispers romantic tunes... what a beautiful way for newlyweds to start their new lives together.

Gunners' Barracks, nestled in the bushland at Mosman, is one of the five premium hosting venues owned by the Grand Pacific Group. The others include The Tea Room QVB in Sydney, The Blue Room at Bondi Beach, Sergeants Mess at Chower Bay and Dunbar House at Watsons Bay.

“We host all kinds of events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate celebrations and gala dinners. We play an integral part in bringing people together to enjoy and celebrate special moments while creating unique experiences. I feel very privileged in this business and that's what motivates me," Manuel Spinola, founder of Grand Pacific Group, expresses his enthusiasm.

“Hand in hand, till old we grow” - a sacred vow amid the spectacle of mother-nature marks the turning point of a new chapter in life. Gunners' Barracks has witnessed the solemn knot-tying of many couples.

The Gunners' Barracks has a long history in the local area. It was designed by colonial architect James Barnett and was built in 1873. The Barracks was the first defence building on Sydney Harbour. Located on one of the Harbour’s highpoints of Georges Heights, it boasts a privileged panoramic view that is best enjoyed from the large terrace. “...highly recommend for functions. Not only is the location amazing, so is the menu and level of service” is the praise in a review from Trip Adviser.

From indoor to outdoor, romantic gardens to stunning harbour views, Manuel introduces the three unique locations in the historic building that are perfect for hosting functions for anywhere between 20 to 180 guests.

“Gunners' Barracks is an exclusive, heritage venue nestled in Sydney’s bushland, overlooking the Sydney Harbour. With its courtyard and harbour terrace, it is perfect for couples who would like an outdoor wedding. They can exchange vows on the Harbour View Lawn, enjoy pre-reception drinks and canapes in the gardens and host the banquet in the dining hall which features custom made luxury furnishings and chandeliers. Intimate ambience, world class dining, dancing under the moonlight, sweeping views of Sydney... we are unmatched for wedding bliss!”

Trip adviser

Joining Grand Pacific Group in 2016, Gunners' Barracks acclaimed Head Chef, Nathan Darling, emphasizes the quality of handmade dishes on the menu which is specifically designed for each occasion.

On top of fine dining experiences, what sets the venue apart, as Nathan sees it, is the team's drive and passion for excellent service. Another review on Trip Adviser recounts that “When we arrived I informed the wait staff that I planned to propose to my girlfriend. The staff were amazing. They took my ring and near the end of our high tea presented a plate with words written in chocolate ‘Will you marry me?’ They had put the engagement ring on another plate. So I dropped to one knee and proposed. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

We communicate well with our guests on their food needs and cultural background to understand the details required for the perfect menu that suits them.”

Nathan was born and raised in Surrey, U.K. He began his career as a chef in his home town. Through working at different restaurants, he learned the intricacies and skills of classical French techniques and two decades of culinary experience has made him an expert on European dining. His passion and know-how, drawn from his classical training with British and French influences, have enhanced the Gunners' Barracks a La Carte offerings and revitalized the traditional high tea service.

Considering the age span of high tea patrons, Nathan Darling focuses on using the freshest ingredients possible for a remarkable menu in which the classic flavours and combinations will appeal to all guests, young and old.

The tea varieties, the delicacies, the environment, and the heritage - Gunners' Barracks has them all. What better way to honour the timeless tradition of high tea than in this historic and enchanting establishment?

Mr. Manuel Spinola, founder of Grand Pacific Group
