Robed in silvery blue, an iconic German beauty and a dancing geisha capture the elegant beauty of Japan.
The country of beguiling contrasts, precision and perfection has long ignited the imagination of Vogue. Italian photographer Franco Rubartelli whisked model (and then partner) Veruschka to Japan where they rambled from Lake Akan in the northern island of Hokkaido down to the historic capital of Kyoto. Australian designers were incorporated into the shoot, from Sydney designer Trent Nathan to Melbourne stalwarts like Ninette and Norma Tullo, which Veruschka wears here.
