Anna-Wili Highfield

This Sydney-based artist, who has collaborated with Hermès and designer Bianca Spender, finds inspiration in transforming an abstract energy or idea into material form to find balance and beauty. Most of her work involves creating animal sculptures, which she does for our fabrics story, ‘Beauty and the Beasts’ (page 44). “I did my best to ‘magic’ the beautiful fabrics into creatures,” Highfield says. “Everyone was great, everything worked and — bam! — we nailed it as a team. I think the shots convey that dynamism.”
