THE PALETTE: rich, autumnal shades
Just as the predominance of pale Calacatta made way for terrazzo and richly veined marble, stone and quartz surfaces in deeper shades, so the softer palette of recent years was replaced by warm terracotta, bronze, russet, claret, mahogany and chestnut. Popular accents were midnight blues and Deco-era sage, charcoal, ochre, chartreuse and pale, powdery pinks. Colour was used to outstanding effect at Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Archiproducts, CC-Tapis, Matter Made, Studiopepe, Nanimarquina, Baxter and Magis.
