Apparatus EDITOR’S CHOICE:

-

There’s something about New York-based Apparatus’s fusion of industrial and luxury that (for this editor at least) is a cipher for contemporary design. It’s a bohemian glamour wrought from such materials as brass and slip-cast porcelain. In their showroom on Via Santa Marta, Jeremy Anderson and Gabriel Hendifar debuted new designs Lantern 1, 2 and 3 and Metronome, a patinated brass lamp hand-wrapped in calf suede. “Milan is the first place we show anything,” says Hendifar. “There’s that moment when you feel really vulnerable and wonder if people will like it. The first few days set the tone for how we feel about our work.” Visit apparatusstudio.com.
