BUCKS AND HENS PARTIES ARE BIGGER THAN EVER
PEOPLE planning their bucks and hens parties are splashing out more than ever, according to recent surveys.
A survey in Bride to Be magazine showed that prewedding festivities have had a resurgence of popularity, particularly with grooms.
A trend is emerging of men organising “buck-cations”, where a traditional buck’s night is turning into an interstate or overseas getaway.
According to the survey, one in four men will go on a holiday for their bucks, and will spend 35 per cent more than the ladies.
Another trend is turning weddings into weekend-long celebrations, dubbed “wedsivals”.
This allows couples to spend more time relaxing with friends and loved ones, particularly those who have travelled a long way.
Although overseas spots like New Zealand, Thailand and Fiji are popular, many destination weddings are taking place within Australia, with Queensland the most popular state, followed by NSW and Victoria.
