Tailor your celebration at the Gateway
WHEN it comes to planning your wedding at Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway, the keyword is flexibility.
Whatever your taste, the helpful staff can help set the scene for your special day.
The staff have created an unforgettable ambience for a range of weddings and receptions at the venue, from quirky settings with wooden hearts and a room full of balloons to the more traditional, with mirrors, candles and beautifully scented flowers.
Their wedding package options range from bubbles and canapés poolside to a sit down three course dinner complemented by the finest local wines.
Among the dedicated staff at the hotel is Mat Tucker, a Wangaratta local who has been with the hotel for almost 10 years, starting as a casual barman before being promoted to bar manager.
He is a regular face at many Gateway events.
He has recently completed further studies in the hospitality and business area and is an integral member of the Jones Hotel Group team.
His ‘can do’ personality, affable approach and exemplary hospitality skills make him the ideal person for the job.
Mr Tucker said that he is highly committed to delivering quality, smooth and personal service to all involved in every event that is held at the Gateway.
“We’re pretty flexible to accommodate customer requirements,” he said.
“I pride myself on a higher level of service and consistency.”
He added that creating a perfect wedding day or event was all a team effort with his fellow staff members, and they are only too happy to accommodate special requests.
Mr Tucker also praised the food at the Gateway, saying that the kitchen is staffed by “top notch” staff, including chefs and qualified pastry chefs.
“They take it to a whole other level,” he said.
The Quality Hotel Wangaratta Gateway wedding menu, valid until the end of next year, is once again extensive and utilises some of the finest ingredients available in the region.
Entrees include toasted coconut and roasted pumpkin soup, while main courses include such tempting fare as local chicken breast on brie and semi dried tomato puree, finished with herb veloute, and the mouthwatering dessert menu includes salted caramel cream cheesecake served with caramel sauce and Chantilly cream.
