Angela on a mission across North East
MEET Vision Australia’s cutest staff member.
Angela, a three year old golden Labrador, has worked for Vision Australia as an ambassador seeing eye dog in North East Victoria since December last year.
She was a companion dog for clients with early onset dementia before she retired due to a minor health condition and started in her new role as an ambassador.
Angela supports awareness for the blind and those with low vision at events and speaking engagements throughout the North East.
She also raises awareness by visiting public spaces such as shopping centres and public transport.
Angela will attend ‘Sight, Sound and Getting Around’ events in Wangaratta, Wodonga and the Ovens Valley in October to mark Victorian Seniors Month.
Melissa Cunningham, Vision Australia remote occupational therapist, said Angela always enjoys spending time out of the office.
“Angela absolutely loves going to events,” she said.
“We take her to schools and the kids respond really well to her...she is good for teaching them about low vision.”
Seeing eye dogs Australia is the only national breeder, trainer and supplier of seeing eye dogs.
