Man charged over Ryley Street fatality
A WANGARATTA man has been charged over a collision on Ryley Street that tragically resulted in the death of local mother, Roberta “Bobbie” Brown, 53.
Mrs Brown died on January 16 after being hit by a truck while walking her dog, Milo, across Ryley Street at about 8am, a short distance from her family home.
Police have charged the 27-year-old driver of the truck with dangerous driving causing death, among other summary charges such as failing to give way to a pedestrian at an intersection.
The man appeared briefly at Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he was bailed with conditions to reappear in December.
