Vignerons toast council event grant success
GLENROWAN Vignerons were one of the winners in the Rural City of Wangaratta’s 2017/2018 Tourism Event Funding Program.
Council received 10 applications with a total funding request of $41,860 with Glenrowan Vignerons receiving grants for two events: $2250 for Glenrowan Vignerons Savour the Flavour and $3750 for Glenrowan Vignerons Trails, Tastings and Tales.
Tourism Event Funding Program provides financial assistance to event organisers for the promotion and development of their festivals and events.
Grants are available up to $5000 for major events (events that attract over 1000 visitors) and up to $2000 for minor events (events that attract less than 1000 visitors) from the annual allocation of $32,000.
Of the $32,000, $5000 is reserved for the La Dolce Vita Festival as per council’s commitment.
Other successful applicants were Wangaratta Motor Sports Club $3750 for its SRA410 Spring Car Racing Spectacular; Creative Collectives Australia $3750 for its Off-Grid Living Festival; Wangaratta Turf Club $5000 for the Wangaratta Racing, Food and Wine Carnival; Moyhu Action Group Inc $3750 for the King Valley Easter Escape; Nolan Events $3750 for Ales On The Ovens; Burgoigee Creek Landcare Group Inc $1000 for the Pumpkin Competition, Harvest Festival and Creative Art Exhibition.
