Vignerons toast coun­cil event grant suc­cess

GLEN­ROWAN Vignerons were one of the win­ners in the Ru­ral City of Wan­garatta’s 2017/2018 Tourism Event Fund­ing Pro­gram.

Coun­cil re­ceived 10 ap­pli­ca­tions with a to­tal fund­ing re­quest of $41,860 with Glen­rowan Vignerons re­ceiv­ing grants for two events: $2250 for Glen­rowan Vignerons Savour the Flavour and $3750 for Glen­rowan Vignerons Trails, Tast­ings and Tales.

Tourism Event Fund­ing Pro­gram pro­vides fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance to event or­gan­is­ers for the pro­mo­tion and de­vel­op­ment of their fes­ti­vals and events.

Grants are avail­able up to $5000 for ma­jor events (events that at­tract over 1000 vis­i­tors) and up to $2000 for mi­nor events (events that at­tract less than 1000 vis­i­tors) from the an­nual al­lo­ca­tion of $32,000.

Of the $32,000, $5000 is re­served for the La Dolce Vita Fes­ti­val as per coun­cil’s com­mit­ment.

Other suc­cess­ful ap­pli­cants were Wan­garatta Mo­tor Sports Club $3750 for its SRA410 Spring Car Rac­ing Spec­tac­u­lar; Cre­ative Col­lec­tives Aus­tralia $3750 for its Off-Grid Liv­ing Fes­ti­val; Wan­garatta Turf Club $5000 for the Wan­garatta Rac­ing, Food and Wine Car­ni­val; Moyhu Ac­tion Group Inc $3750 for the King Val­ley Easter Es­cape; Nolan Events $3750 for Ales On The Ovens; Bur­goigee Creek Land­care Group Inc $1000 for the Pump­kin Com­pe­ti­tion, Har­vest Fes­ti­val and Cre­ative Art Ex­hi­bi­tion.
