SENIORS can use the Wangaratta Library for more than just borrowing books next month.

A wide range of fun and exciting events are on offer at the Wangaratta Library this October as part of the Wangaratta Seniors Festival.

Seniors can refine their skills or learn new ones when they participate in the Sit, Knit and Crochet session and the internet introductory program, Get Online.

The Classics of Cinema and Colouring for Mind- fulness sessions will give participants the chance to unwind and enjoy a laidback activity accompanied by morning or afternoon tea.

Local experts will be on hand to give seniors tips and tricks about wicking bed gardening, and the benefits of using it as a way to grow plants.

Staff will help seniors learn how to take advantage of their smart devices when they download the Luminosity, Elevate or Peak applications for the Mind Active brain training session, or Bolinda BorrowBox to borrow free eBooks and audio books from the library.

Acting library coordinator, Jasen Smith, said all sessions would be free to attend for seniors.

“Seniors Festival is always a fun time at the library and this year is no different, with everything from brain training to a movie and crochet,” he said.
