Police warn all motorists after two car collision
WANGARATTA police have urged drivers to pay attention on the road following a two-car collision on Monday afternoon.
Sergeant Damian Loiterton of Wangaratta police said two vehicles were travelling east along Williams Road when they collided at around 4.55pm.
“One vehicle was attempting to turn right onto Appin Street, and the vehicle behind it was travelling straight ahead,” Sgt Loiterton told the Wangaratta Chronicle.
“The driver behind - a woman aged in her 20s - became distracted and ran into the car in front.”
He said the vehicle in front was driven by a woman aged in her 20s, carrying a woman in her early 50s and a toddler.
All four people were taken to hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. “Pay attention when driving,” Sgt Loiterton said. “Don’t let yourself become too distracted.” Wangaratta CFA senior station officer David Brock said one fire truck and four firefighters attended to help police clean up the scene.
