Help to buy your first home sooner

WAN­GARATTA res­i­dents strug­gling to save enough to buy a house are en­cour­aged to regis­ter for a new scheme.

Vic­to­rian Pre­mier, Daniel An­drews, has an­nounced first home buy­ers can ex­press their in­ter­est in a shared eq­uity scheme that will see the State Gov­ern­ment pro­vide up to 25 per cent of the home’s ini­tial price, HomesVic.

The pi­lot scheme will be­gin early next year with an ini­tial al­lo­ca­tion of $50 mil­lion over two years.

Ap­pli­ca­tions of­fi­cially open in Fe­bru­ary and el­i­gi­bil­ity will tar­get ap­pli­cants with in­comes of up to $95,000 for cou­ples and fam­i­lies or up to $75,000 per an­num for sin­gles.
