“If he hadn’t had the in­jury I would have ex­pected him to stay and play the year out be­cause he can cer­tainly play at that level.

“But it was a com­bi­na­tion of things and know­ing we are a chance at the league and cup ti­tles might have helped us as well.”

And while An­tonello is rapt to have his lead­ing striker back, he is also ex­cited to see what Arias, 22, is ca­pa­ble of hav­ing watched im­pres­sive vi­sion on him through the in­ter­net.

Arias, a cen­tre for­ward through­out his fledg­ling ca­reer, will be used in at­tack for the Red Devils’ side sorely need­ing an at­tack­ing leader.

“He is only a lit­tle fel­lah,” he said.

“I’ve seen a few videos of him in ac­tion; he’s strong over the ball and a re­ally good fin­isher.

“I would ex­pect him to go well for us – he is re­ally what we need.

“He’ll play on Sun­day for sure.”
