Quick start the focus for Dees

Wangaratta Chronicle - - Sport -

From back page After torching Benalla early in the match, McClounan said the Demons will look to hit the ground running on Saturday.

“Against Tarra in the semi we were a bit slow, a bit flat, we had a real focus on starting the game well against Benalla and we went out there really pumped up,” he said.

“The build up to the match was totally different to the week before and is something we will look to achieve again this week.”

As for how the game will unfold, McClounan said it will come down to the midfield battle.

“It will be the same as most weeks, if we can get on top in the middle it will go a long way to winning the game,” he said.

“Obviously Daine (Porter) and Jamie (Allan) are two contested beasts which will be a great battle.

“Whoever has the greater impact will be get the game on their terms.”
