Vot­ers back jail for as­saulters

AN over­whelm­ing ma­jor­ity of peo­ple who par­tic­i­pated in Wan­garatta Chron­i­cle’s Face­book poll this week said they sup­ported the gov­ern­ment’s new laws of manda­tory im­pris­on­ment for peo­ple found guilty of as­sault­ing emer­gency ser­vice work­ers.

While 668 vot­ers said yes, only 61 peo­ple voted no.
