“When you sit down and look at it we’d love to get a lo­cal per­son that could bring a few kids out to the club.

“There is al­ways the op­tion of fall­ing back on some­one like Trav Nolan but I haven’t spo­ken to him or some­one like that yet.

“We’d like to get some­one fresh so that we can get new peo­ple to the club.

“I’m still ring­ing around.”

Her­nan con­firmed Bren­ton Doig had again put his hand up to coach the re­serves while key se­nior play­ers Sam Gladstone, James Dal­ton, Ben Re­aburn, Liam Her­nan and Shane Rod­well are ex­pected to play on.

But at­tract­ing play­ers to help spread the load re­mained tough to do with Her­nan ad­mit­ting po­ten­tial play­ers were un­likely to make a de­ci­sion with­out know­ing who the coach was.

While the off-sea­son is not yet three weeks old, Her­nan said he was hop­ing to have a coach in place within the next six weeks.
