On your bike for cy­cling club’s char­ity ride for Uganda

WAN­GARATTA Bi­cy­cle User Group will hold a char­ity ride this Satur­day to raise funds for a char­ity or­gan­i­sa­tion based in Uganda.

Ride for Seeds of Hope will de­part from Batch­e­lor’s Green at 9am sharp and re­turns to Wan­garatta by 10.30am.

Do­na­tions from this ride will go to­wards a poul­try farm in East­ern Uganda that is used as an agri­cul­tural school to ed­u­cate and em­ploy lo­cals.

Morn­ing tea is $10 and will be at 2 Riverview Cres­cent, Wan­garatta for peo­ple who can’t get to ride.

Seeds of Hope In­te­grated Min­istries was founded by a spon­sored child with Com­pas­sion Aus­tralia named Moses.

Moses, now 28, was spon­sored by BUG mem­ber He­lene Feely and her sis­ter Glenda from age four.

He is an ac­cred­ited trainer with Aus­tralian or­gan­i­sa­tion Wise Choices for Life and holds a univer­sity de­gree in Busi­ness Stud­ies.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion will be re­ceiv­ing five Aus­tralian stu­dent vol­un­teers in De­cem­ber who will be work­ing in Uganda with Devel­op­ment To­gether, a Perth based vol­un­teer fa­cil­i­ta­tor who part­ners and works in de­vel­op­ing na­tions in com­mu­ni­ties stricken with low in­come and poor ed­u­ca­tion.

Moses will be di­rect­ing the projects that they will be work­ing on, in­clud­ing the poul­try project that this fundraiser is for.
