On your bike for cycling club’s charity ride for Uganda
WANGARATTA Bicycle User Group will hold a charity ride this Saturday to raise funds for a charity organisation based in Uganda.
Ride for Seeds of Hope will depart from Batchelor’s Green at 9am sharp and returns to Wangaratta by 10.30am.
Donations from this ride will go towards a poultry farm in Eastern Uganda that is used as an agricultural school to educate and employ locals.
Morning tea is $10 and will be at 2 Riverview Crescent, Wangaratta for people who can’t get to ride.
Seeds of Hope Integrated Ministries was founded by a sponsored child with Compassion Australia named Moses.
Moses, now 28, was sponsored by BUG member Helene Feely and her sister Glenda from age four.
He is an accredited trainer with Australian organisation Wise Choices for Life and holds a university degree in Business Studies.
The organisation will be receiving five Australian student volunteers in December who will be working in Uganda with Development Together, a Perth based volunteer facilitator who partners and works in developing nations in communities stricken with low income and poor education.
Moses will be directing the projects that they will be working on, including the poultry project that this fundraiser is for.
