A ROBBER attacked a male with pepper spray as he walked through North Metropolitan Tafe late in the afternoon in Joondalup recently. Police said the victim was walking on the boardwalk near Grand Boulevard between 4pm and 4.20pm on Saturday, April 15. A police spokesman said the offender asked the male for a cigarette and $2, but he refused. “After receiving nothing, the male became involved in a short struggle with the victim and produced what is believed to have been a can of pepper spray,” he said. “The victim was sprayed with the substance before the male stole his mobile phone and headphones.” The offender was described as dark-skinned, about 170cm tall and aged between 30 and 40.
