TAPPING residents Kenneth (85) and Pauline (79) Lee celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary this month.

The couple, who married on April 20, 1957, have lived in Pineview Village for about 14 years after living in Greenwood for more than three decades.

Mrs Lee said they met at square dancing in 1954 and lived in Dianella for the first 14 years of their 60-year marriage.

While she was born and bred in WA, her husband’s family moved to Perth from Burma in 1947 following World War II.

Mrs Lee said highlights of their marriage included six cruises to countries such as Japan and New Zealand, and a trip to Burma.

“That was the first time my husband had been back there,” she said.

They have four children – Alison, Stephen, Glenn and Jennine – and seven grandchildren.

“Before retiring my dad was a state manager for Jasco, a stationery company,” daughter Jennine Eiffler said.

Mr Lee had a stroke in February that has affected his mobility.
