Outlook is rosy for show

Wanneroo Times - - News -

WOODVALE resident Stewart Coles hopes to have a flush of roses ready for this weekend’s autumn show.

The Rose Society of WA treasurer is optimistic that nature will deliver favourable conditions ahead of the May 13-14 show in Guildford.

“This is just magnificent weather for growing roses at the moment,” he said.

Last October, unsuitable weather meant society members struggled to exhibit blooms for the National Rose Society Championships at the 2016 Spring Rose Show.

Mr Coles has been growing roses since 1971 and currently has 162 rose bushes, including 20 in large pots.

The show will be at the Guildford Town Hall from 1-5pm on Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sunday.
