Cubby Town will be back

OR­GAN­IS­ERS hope to bring Cubby Town back to Yanchep Na­tional Park next year af­ter about 5000 peo­ple at­tended the first event in WA on Sun­day.

Na­ture Play WA events man­ager Ni­cole McNa­mara said about 1400 fam­i­lies had reg­is­tered for the free April 30 event, sup­ported by the De­part­ment of Sport and Re­cre­ation and City of Wan­neroo.

Miss McNa­mara said dif­fer­ent gen­er­a­tions worked to­gether, show­ing “amaz­ing in­ge­nu­ity and con­struc­tion”.

“There were so many dif­fer­ent ways peo­ple cre­ated cub­bies,” she said.

“It had a re­ally re­laxed and nice vibe.

“We’re hop­ing to run Cubby Town again at Yanchep Na­tional Park in 2018 as it was such a huge suc­cess.”

Other ac­tiv­i­ties at Cubby Town in­cluded a scav­enger hunt, rock climb­ing, high ropes, kite mak­ing and sight­see­ing around the park.
