Funding plan for six roads
SIX roads in the City of Wanneroo are being considered for State Government funding for improvements.
Councillors at the July meeting supported submitting applications for roads in Darch/Madeley, Butler, Banksia Grove, Mariginiup, Wangara and Girrawheen under Main Roads’ 2018-19 Metropolitan Regional Roads Program (MRRP) for road improvement and rehabilitation projects.
It is seeking a total of $7.7 million to create dual carriageways on Hartman Drive from Hepburn Avenue to Gnangara Road at a cost of $4.5 million, along Connolly Drive between Lukin Drive and Benenden Avenue costing $3.65 million and Joondalup Drive from Pinjar to Old Yanchep Roads, which is expected to cost $3.4 million.
As part of road rehabilitation, it applied for $602,134 to reseal asphalt on Caporn Street between Franklin Road and 250m east of Green Park Drive, Franklin Road from north of Dundebar Road to south of Caporn Street and Mirrabooka Avenue northbound lanes between Beach Road and Marangaroo Drive.
