Man pleads guilty to ob­scene act

A JOON­DALUP man has ad­mit­ted to com­mit­ting ob­scene acts in front of teenage girls in Bel­don and has been granted strict home de­ten­tion bail as he awaits sen­tenc­ing.

Darin Sean Cald­well (47) faced Joon­dalup Mag­is­trates Court on Wed­nes­day, plead­ing guilty to one count of an ob­scene act in public and two counts of in­de­cently deal­ing with a child aged be­tween 13 and 16.

He had been in cus­tody for more than three weeks while his suit­abil­ity for bail was as­sessed af­ter po­lice de­tained him. He is fac­ing court in re­la­tion to com­mit­ting ob­scene acts in his car in front of girls at mul­ti­ple lo­ca­tions on Au­gust 21, in­clud­ing the Coles su­per­mar­ket carpark.

He is due in the Dis­trict Court on Novem­ber 10 for a sen­tence men­tion.
