City seek­ing Black Spot funds

THE City of Wan­neroo has ap­plied for fund­ing to up­grade 14 road trou­ble spots through state and fed­eral Black Spot pro­grams.

The fed­eral re­quests in­clude $1.3 mil­lion to build paths ei­ther side of Wan­neroo Road be­tween Ocean Reef Road and Hep­burn Av­enue, $690,000 for a path on Prindiville Drive in Wan­gara and $492,000 to up­grade Kingsway.

It has ap­plied for $360,000 to in­stall skid-re­sis­tant treat­ment on Ocean Reef Road in Wan­gara, and $100,000 for the Beach Road and Alexan­der Drive in­ter­sec­tion.

Through the state pro­gram, the City is seek­ing $1 mil­lion for paths on Wan­neroo Road in Pearsall and Wan­neroo, plus $116,667 for a Tem­ple­ton Cres­cent path up­grade in Gir­rawheen.

For skid-re­sis­tant treat­ments, it ap­plied for $120,000 for the Gnan­gara Road/Alexan­der Drive in­ter­sec­tion in Gnan­gara and $70,000 for Marangaroo Drive in Alexan­der Heights.
