Mark danger areas on map
ROAD users concerned about the safety of Indian Ocean Drive can now pinpoint the spots they consider the most dangerous using an interactive map.
The latest serious crash on the road was last Tuesday when a 70year-old man lost control of a vehicle and struck a tree.
The car was destroyed, but the man escaped severe injury.
Six people have died this year on the tourist stretch, which Road Safety Minister Michelle Roberts has described as “one of WA’s most dangerous roads”.
Last Thursday, Ms Roberts launched the initiative, which allows motorists to upload a photo and description of a dangerous area, before selecting the location on the map.
“The Indian Ocean Drive Highway Safety Review committee will use the information as part of its report to Ms Roberts next month.
