WA artist Charmain Cole’s work will light up the City of Joondalup’s administration building during this week’s Kaleidoscope Festival.

Nine of her Noongar portraits will be projected on to the building and tell a dreamtime story voiced by Elder Joe Northover.

Her work features after festival director Drew Anthony chanced upon the Marangaroo artist’s work at the Joondalup Art Gallery during a Naidoc Week exhibition.

He popped into the gallery only 10 minutes before the doors closed and was overwhelmed by the intensity Cole’s work. Their subsequent meeting gave birth to One Voice, involving the projection of nine of Cole’s works.
