PADBURY teenager Chloe Ward (pictured) is moving across the country to pursue her dream.

The 15-year-old has been accepted into The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne after an intense audition week.

Chloe said it had been her dream to attend the school since joining Wangara-based The WA School of Dance seven years ago, where she trains under principal Nathan Coppen.

“It is such a privilege to be offered the opportunity to train at the school fulltime; I know very few spots are offered for full time placement, so I am very grateful,” Chloe said.

“I believe its training will help me to be the best ballet dancer I can possibly be, although I know it will be challenging and hard work every day.”

The talented youngster started dancing when she was three and turned to ballet from age seven.

“(I enjoy) the feeling of being lost in the movement of classical dance and how a story can be told with no words, when danced well,” she said.

“There is something very magical about classical dance.”

She was awarded a scholarship to Houston Ballet Academy’s summer intensive program this year and had been part of the Melbourne school’s interstate training program since 2015.

Chloe is the only WA student to be offered a place at the school and will train at the Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre, which is also home to The Australian Ballet.

“I’m looking forward to studying ballet at an elite level and being challenged every day,” she said.
