Wanneroo Times - - News -

WORK on the $20 million redevelopment of Wanneroo Central shopping centre start this week.

Charter Hall Retail last month appointed Pindan as the builder for the project, which will include a dining and town square precinct plus an Aldi supermarket. A spokeswoman said although Windan Way would close there would be access to the underground and main carparks via Dundebar Road, Civic Drive and Wanneroo Road.

The general centre upgrades are scheduled for completion in mid-2018.

BARTENDERS at Girrawheen’s Newpark Tavern are encouraging patrons to support the Leukaemia Foundation through upcoming events.

Participants in the fundraising competition show their UGLY (Understanding, Generous, Likeable You) side in a bid to win the charity’s UGLY bartender of the year title.

Newpark Tavern’s assistant manager Riley Michael joined the campaign to raise awareness and funds for people living with blood cancer.

“So far, we have raised over $3000 with raffles, bar games and special events like AFL grand final, Bledisloe Cup and Halloween,” he said.
