Falcons get set
REGISTRATIONS are open for the winter season of Football West’s inclusive league aimed at competitively disadvantaged players.
Equal Footingball provides an inclusive environment for people with a competitive disadvantage, such as a physical or intellectual disability, to get started in sport.
Games are happening on weekends from April to September.
It is designed for players who may have difficulty playing a full-size game at full speed and no scores, goal scorers list or competition ladder are recorded.
There are currently seven clubs throughout the Perth metropolitan area that offer teams.
Football West inclusive participation officer Gordon Duus said the culture which developed amongst the participating clubs was like no other.
“It’s bringing back the sport to its genuine roots – cheering on opponents, getting to know other families and appreciating a lot of people involved in sport who have started out in different challenging positions and overcoming them,” he said.
