Magistrate tightens conditions for bail

Wanneroo Times - - News -

A MAGISTRATE described charges against a man who allegedly fired a ‘gel blaster’ gun at pedestrians in Craigie early last month as serious and tightened his bail conditions last week.

Magistrate Deen Potter remanded Luke Kevin Dempster (26), of Wanneroo, in Joondalup Magistrates Court last Friday until October 26 and ordered he not contact his three alleged victims or go within 100m of where they lived.

Mr Potter set bail at $5000 and applied the protective conditions after questioning why there were no conditions on the original bail.

Ben Malpuss (26), of Woodvale, later also appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court last Friday charged in relation to the Craigie incidents on September 4.

He was granted $10,000 and remanded to reappear on November 5. He has to report to Joondalup police station once a week and is not allowed to contact coaccused Mr Dempster.
