Businesses share vision to grow garden

Wanneroo Times - - News - Lucy Jarvis

WANNEROO businesses have helped fund a garden makeover at a Community Vision facility in Kingsley.

Wanneroo Business Association held an auction fundraising dinner in June, raising $1475 for the renovations to provide therapeutic benefits for people with disabilities.

People who use the centre can use the community garden to plant and grow their own herbs and vegetables.

“Much of the outdoor area was dilapidated and needed upgrade,” Community Vision chief executive Michelle Jenkins said.

“With funding, donations and support of the community, we have been able to give the old garden a much-needed new lease on life.

“We wanted to be able to give our clients an opportunity to experience gardening and develop a love of growing their own food.

“They are able to turn this into meals which they can cook in classes held at our Woodvale centre.”
